1. Yucatan Family Adventure

Your family adventure in the Yucatan starts with a scavenger hunt in the ancient Maya city of Uxmal. An expert guide will take you on a fun and educational adventure across the archaeological site, teaching you about the myth of the Pyramid Of The Magician among many other things. Then you will visit the Celestún Biosphere Reserve, home to flocks of bright pink flamingos during the winter months. You’ll head onto the waters of the lagoon and study the naturally thriving flora and fauna. After, you will head to the historical city of Mérida to enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride.

The following day includes a visit to the traditional Maya village of Tixkokob, a rural community famous for weaving hammocks. After, you will stop in Izamal and explore the beautiful city famous for its striking yellow and white buildings. The night will be spent in a delightful lodge on the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Chichen Itza. The next day includes tours of two incredible Maya archaeological sites, Chichen Itza and Ek’ Balam. You’ll learn all about the ancient Maya culture and explore the fascinating ruins that give us an insight into their past.

Finally, you’ll head to Tulum and explore the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, the largest protected area on the Mexican-Caribbean Coast. This vast tropical landscape is home to crocodiles, dolphins, turtles, and big cats. A guided tour of its waters offers the chance for plenty of safari-style animal spotting. After, you will head to the ancient archaeological site of Tulum. Your family vacation will end with an epic journey onto the high seas on a 34-foot catamaran.

2. Family Spring Break: Copper Canyon & Baja

You’ll have a guided tour of Espiritu Santo Island, kayak around the bay and take a nature hike. After that, you’ll swim with whale sharks, the gentle giants of the ocean. Next, you’ll visit Los Cabos, via the beautiful town of Todos Santos, for a day at leisure. Here, you and your family can choose your adventure. Hike an organic farm, walk to a waterfall, tour Los Cabos, or kayak and snorkel in the gorgeous seas.

Your family has the chance to create their own handicrafts on an action-packed day of art fun. A stop-off for quesadillas and flavored waters always goes down well with the children. The following day offers a trip to Hierve El Agua and a chance to swim in its natural saltwater springs. After splashing around the stone waterfalls, you will head to the village of Teotitlan del Valle, famous for its people’s weaving. The day finishes with a visit to The Tule Tree, a gigantic, twisting 2,000-year-old Montezuma cypress tree.

Day three includes a visit to Monte Albán, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and archaeological hotspot. You can climb to the top of pyramids and discover ancient temples. The afternoon and evening will give you a chance to spend some time together at the hotel and to explore Oaxaca City. Next, you will tour the sprawling central market of Oaxaca, called Mercado de Abastos. Explore the colorful stands and watch the vendors in action as they attempt to sell their goods. Then, after flying to Huatulco, it’s time for the beach. Take surf lessons and explore the local fishing village of Barra de la Cruz. Your beach adventure will include white water rafting and a trip to the Sea Turtle Conservation Center and Crocodile Lagoon to meet some of their reptilian guests and to learn about the on-going efforts to protect them.
